Thanks to a surge in digital currency in the past few weeks, Ripple founder and chief executive is now one of the five richest people in America.
- With Ripple's XRP coins reaching a high of $3.84, founder and chief executive of the company, Chris Larsen, is now worth about $59.9 billion on paper.
- It puts Larsen right in front of Larry Ellison, who ranks fifth on the Forbes 400 list for $58.4 billion, and in front of its founders Google Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who are ranked eighth and 10th on their respective lists.
- Larsen has 5.19 billion XRP and 17 percent stake in Ripple, according to Forbes, citing sources at start-up.
